That is he, my husband Peter Bach Jr.! He loves writing – and he loves writing much – and that is the photo which he likes best.
To come up with this detail upfront: Yes, he has written the "Biography About Bach for Children", his debut feature. But there is already a second book from him and that is ... a coloring book. More precisely? A Bach Coloring Book. So don't take the author in the headline quite so seriously.
However: He doesn't hide behind a youth photo and so there are some more pictures of him below, and how he looks today in the meantime.
Actually, we do different things in our common hobby, the subject of Bach. He is the writer of the two of us, and he creates websites and music calendars, he wrote a book and invented a Bach coloring book. Plus, he comes up with a new idea every ten minutes. At least it feels like that for me.
He learned how to take photos, and he has a diploma with that. Shortly after becoming a professional photographer, he started to work together with his dad. They both specialize in explaining things to a broad public. So, his father started his profession by presenting vacation destinations, areas such as South Tyrol, Italy, Bavaria, Germany and the Black Forrest in Southern Germany. Later on he started – as the very first person in Germany – to present companies via a combination of slides and audiotape ... light picture lectures ... that was the name back then. You might know this as an image film or a company presentation. And that is, what Peter is still doing today. Not with slides, of course, and there is no audiotape around anymore. When this text was written, Peter's father was still around. However, not in Peter's company anymore. At that time he was 93, and he was part of the common company until age 83. That was 2016. He died in 2017 and if you are interested, there's more about him after you click here.

A photo matching our Johann Sebastian Bach Mission and his project "Bach On Bach". This project are many websites, like for instance "Johann Sebastian Bach for Children" or one about the origin village of the Bach family of musicians. This is Wechmar – not Weimar – in Thuringia, Germany. The name of this website is "Bach in Wechmar".
Here is a quick shortcut to his most important project website, which is "Bach on Bach". However: Please come back after your visit.
And for him, that means in particular: He takes photos from the most impossible angles. He lies down on the floor, sits around in the dirt and sometimes even outshines acrobats. And he only takes his camera out of his pocket when the sun is shining. Gladly convince yourself. Here are a few photos of him. Which ... of course I took.
Peter, taking photos of the Bachhaus with the Bach Museum in Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany ...
... Peter taking photos of the artist in Paris, France, who paints Bach for our Bach mission after a famous Bach portrait ...
... plus Peter, taking a photo of the monument of his famous namesake: Johann Sebastian Bach in Mühlhausen, Thuringia, Germany.
Taking photos is still the most fun for my husband, even within this Bach-themed hobby. There is a Bach monument in Ansbach in Bavaria. It's a very modern, with stainless steel, really "really different" Bach monument. It's on the side of the marketplace in the old town. Can you imagine that he photographed this one monument for a whole 45 minutes? And ... he would never photograph without sunshine. As mentioned earlier. Yes, that's how he is, my husband, and that's why part of our partnership for me is always .... waiting.
Peter and his sister Petra-Ines. Together they are the authors of the little "Bach Biography for Children". She painted all these dreamlike illustrations of young and later older Johann Sebastian Bach and of the two BFF Veit and Balthazar. Learn more about that book, that is actually no "little" biography at all with a click here.
We, the heart of our "Johann Sebastian Bach Mission": the owner of my Publishing House and the author of some Bach publications ... more precisely, the Publishing Company starter and the novice author: Renate and Peter Bach Jr. (... from right to left, and I am serious with that). Thank you, Roman Schreuer, for this great picture of us.
Each page on the websites of our "Johann Sebastian Bach Mission" ends with a music calendar by Peter. Here it is the most experimental of the 99 music calendars, that is an exciting composers calendar. To the "Bach 4 You" Shop.
